Choirs

Adult Choir – Meets at 7:30 PM on Wednesdays in the Choir Room from September – May.  The Adult Choir sings twice a month in worship.

The Adult Choir is honored to continue the rich history of providing anthems and leading worship at First Lutheran.   The choir sings anthems of all genres, including classical, contemporary Christian, spirituals, and gospel.   We welcome singers of all levels, and new singers are always welcome!

Children’s Choir – Kindergarten-6th Grade. Meets after school each Wednesday from 4:30-5:15. The group sings once a month in worship.

Each rehearsal begins with prayers, with children often adding their own prayer requests, and ends with everyone saying the benediction. Some fun aspects include prizes each week, and year-end pizza party. The choir sings a variety of music from all over the world, and emphasizes singing musically and with good enunciation.  The children understand that what they do is an offering to God, rather than a performance.

The church provides transportation to children each week from the Kennedy Bus parking lot.

Hosanna Handbells – The music ministry of our church was enhanced when the Hosanna Handbells were formed in 1987, when First Lutheran was gifted a three octave set of Malmark bells.  Since that time, two more octaves of bells and five octaves of choir chimes have been added.  Our mission is to provide quality music while we have fun and support each other as a family in Christ.  Rehearsals are held in the sanctuary each Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 p.m., with adjustments to time during Advent and Lent. If you have interest in playing handbells, please contact Linda Mellon, Director at 218.205.1589.
